You wake up early in the morning in your holiday apartment in Riscone in South Tyrol, look out the window and see a breathtaking mountain panorama in front of you. Inevitably, there is only one thing left for you to do: Put on your hiking boots! Our farm in Riscone is the ideal location because the hiking itineraries start right outside the front door. Depending on what you and your loved ones feel like, you can choose: leisurely walks, beautiful alpine hikes, or a summit tour in the Dolomites in one of the surrounding valleys. The Dolomites also offer climbing enthusiasts a unique mountain experience and you can romp freely on the well-developed and secured climbing trails in the region.
Of course, biking fans will also get their money’s worth: whether by mountain bike or e-bike, the many trails around Plan de Corones offer all sorts of variety. You can bring your own bike and store it in our lockable bike room and even charge your e-bike. Or you may pick up a bike from the nearby bike rental.
Don’t forget: In the holiday region Plan de Corones, hiking is possible even in winter!

Our farm Mair am Bach in South Tyrol is not only the ideal place to explore the mountains in and around Riscone, but also to relax and unwind in and around the water. A soothing foot massage in the middle of nature? Our barefoot path, which is located directly in our garden, can offer you just that: not only an experience for adults; children also love feeling and touching nature with their feet. If you want to cool off in the fresh mountain water, you visit the Kneipp Trail in Riscone, which is located in the forest just a few steps behind our farm. You can also experience fresh mountain water in a natural setting on excursions to the many mountain lakes and waterfalls in the surrounding side valleys, such as the Reiner Waterfalls in Aurina Valley or Lake Anterselva in Anterselva Valley. A special tip: The Reiner Waterfalls are particularly suitable for a family outing. The walk is not very long, and the waterfalls offer a unique experience, but the special highlight is the fly-line: you don’t have to walk all the way back, the fly-line allows you to “fly back” through the trees and over the waterfalls to the starting point.
The CRON4 in Riscone is a unique wellness experience with pool worlds, sauna landscapes, whirlpool, and relaxation rooms. A leisurely stroll through picturesque alleys, a visit to a castle or a cup of coffee after an extensive shopping tour is what a trip to the nearby Rienza town of Brunico offers. If you would like to delve further into the history of the region and life in earlier years, the South Tyrolean State Museum for Folklore in Teodone near Brunico is a good tip from April to October. You can dive even further into history on a palace and castle tour in the Pusteria Valley. At Castle Bruneck you will get to know the origins of the city of Brunico, which go back to the 13th century. Castle Ehrenburg, Castle Rodenegg, or a visit to the mighty castle complex of Castle Tures impress not only with a wonderful landscape, but also with a far-reaching history. On the other hand, you can follow the traces of alpine history in the Messner Mountain Museum Corones at the summit of the Plan de Corones at an altitude of 2275 meters. And if you want to know what Ötzi is all about, then make a trip to the South Tyrolean Archaeology Museum in the provincial capital of Bolzano.
